TThe Toyota RAV4 is one of the greatest crossover SUVs of all time. It has always been a consumer favorite thanks to its efficiency, comfort, and reliability. The most successful version of the nameplate is the RAV4 Prime PHEV.

The following is a review of its latest version, the 2023 RAV4 Prime:

Features

The 2023 RAV4 Prime is part of the 5th generation of Toyota’s iconic compact CUV. It offers a pair of trims and a single powertrain option. On the overall RAV4 Hybrid lineup, these two trims are at the very top of the hierarchy – meaning that they’re the highest-end RAV4 models.

As a result, they’re packed with all sorts of features. As far as updates are concerned, the 2023 RAV4 Prime hasn’t received any significant ones over last year’s model.

Powertrain and Numbers

The all-new RAV4 Prime 2023 comes with a 2.5-liter 4-cylinder plug-in hybrid setup that produces 302 hp and 165 lb-ft. It sends power to an all-wheel drive system via a CVT. This setup is able to propel it from 0 to 62 mph in just 5.6 seconds.

The RAV4 Prime 2023 is also a tower as it can pull up to 2500 lbs, while also being able to carry up to 1230 lbs of payload. Both the aforementioned numbers are reasonable for the midsized crossover class.

The fuel economy numbers are top-notch for the 2023 RAV4 Prime. It can give you up to 40 mpg in the city and 36 on the highway. This vehicle is good for 94 MPGe in total and can travel more than 42 miles in EV mode.

Interior and Technology

The 2023 RAV4 Prime’s interior shows us the perfect mixture of style and functionality. Despite its reasonable price range, you’ll find high-quality materials and soft-touch surfaces in its cabin. The RAV4 is also very spacious as expected from a vehicle of its size.

You’ll be glad to know that the RAV4 Prime has the best cargo capabilities in its class. It has a large trunk which can be made even more capacious when you fold down the rear seats. On top of that, the cargo floor sits quite low which makes loading a lot easier.
